“Waffer Discounts” Contains Online Shopping Offers

May 13, 2020

The persons in charge at Waffer Discounts Programme of Sharjah Directorate of Human Resources invited all beneficiaries, holders of Waffer card, to benefit from the discounts and online shopping offers from the various companies and entities enrolled to the Programme. This will allow them to benefit from the card’s online features so that they can stay home to ensure their safety and save time and effort.

More than 57,000 beneficiaries, including employees and pensioners of entities, establishments and authorities of the Government of Sharjah, employees of Sharjah Police General Directorate, beneficiaries of social benefits, employees of the University of Sharjah, Al Qasimia University and University City in Sharjah, all benefit from this Programme.

HE Dr. Tariq Sultan Bin Khadem, Member of Sharjah Executive Council, Chairman of Sharjah Directorate of Human Resources, explained that this step meets the needs of Waffer Card beneficiaries as well as the partner entities and companies enrolled to the Programme in light of the online shopping and online sale of products and services all around the world.

He confirmed that the online shopping service offered by the Programme is the result of the keenness of Sharjah Directorate of Human Resources to support the State’s efforts in the precautionary measures taken to face the global crisis emerging because of the Corona Virus (Covid-19), by encouraging people to stay home and providing them with all their needs through home delivery.

Concerning the online shopping feature, Jawaher Seif Al Oud, Director of the Events and Activities Office at Sharjah Directorate of Human Resources and Director of Waffer Programme, said that this feature is available at most companies listed in Waffer Programme and some of these companies already have goods and services sold exclusively online since joining the Programme.

As for the partners who did not have online shopping service, the Programme contacted them and coordinated with them to make this service available. Many of them updated this service in line with the current needs. She also confirmed that the number of companies offering such service will increase and added that Waffer Programme is marketing and advertising the online shopping feature through its social media platforms on Twitter and Instagram, waffercard.

Jawaher El Oud also stated that there is a discount code for Waffer Programme and the beneficiaries can, after checkout, enter the code that is available on the company’s website or that was sent to them by e-mail.

She added that the Programme is marketing and advertising the new companies enrolled to the Programme to introduce the beneficiaries to the products and services of all companies through the website https://waffer.dhr.gov.ae and the smart application, and by sending offers by e-mails to the holders of Waffer card.
